Is it Difficult to Get a Professional License in Dubai?

Dubai is a perfect place to set up a company for an entrepreneur or business leader who has the drive to selling products and services beyond borders due to the attractive tax system. The Emirate of Dubai is welcoming international investments in the region by allowing foreign individuals to set up their business operations in the United Arab Emirates.

A valid professional licence is mandatory for professionals, specialists, craftsmen and artisans to set up a business in Dubai. Having a professional licence allows foreign businesspeople and global companies to have 100% ownership of their company. Based on the number of people involved in the ownership, the organization can register as a Civil Company or Solo Establishment. Solo Establishment is owned and operated by a single owner who controls the sole establishment's operations and profits. On the contrary, a Civil Company shares the ownership of the organization with more than one shareholder.

Procedures involved to get the professional licence in Dubai

  • Get the local service agreement form with the UAE national from a local translator and fill in the details. Get it attested from a public notary service. Do not miss mentioning the sponsor's fixed annual fees in the agreement.

  • Make ready the Memorandum of Association (MoA) with the local sponsor including every detail you and your sponsor have agreed upon.

  • The next step is to get approval from the Dubai Municipality for the tenancy contract.

  • Prepare and submit the following attested forms: BR1 form, name reservation certificate, initial approval from DED, Ejari registration, rental agreement copy, and passport copies of the business owners or partners.

  • Submit the MOA along with the passport copies and NOCs of expatriate owners or partners at any branch of the DED.

  • Make payment at the counter and get the voucher. When the payment voucher is issued you get the licence.
